that's why i thought idle air control [or whatever the fuck the 4age has]
but you're describing something else, vacuum leaks run generally fine at anything besides idle, not fail to rev and kill...
that almost makes me think ignition, somehow, idk how since you're cap and rotor.

Thanks everyone. I'm starting to think the problem is with fuel pump voltage. Gotta check that out later.

That mushroom intake is fucking rad. Valve cover/s need to be purple again though. Bay used to look way cooler.
Thanks dude. I still have the purple valve covers. But they arent looking as good as they used to. I'll paint them something awesome. Its nice having an extra set to fuck around with. I do like the black w/ polished letters though. It looks good in person.
I might be repainting anyway because I'm probably going to start running 2 intake valve covers like this.
It helps a lot with baffeling and draining oil from the head, and allows you to run a proper catch can from both sides... but looks weird because you have 2 oil caps

here's a random thought i had, what if for some reason on start the ign advance thinks [or is getting suck] it needs to be fully advanced at start, and then stays that way.
idk throw a timing light on it and see wtf the spark is doing if you feel like it

Well in proper fashion. I cant get this piece of junk to start and run like it should, so I bought a bunch of stickers, suspension parts and fiberglass instead so that at least it looks cool.
Battle version 4-link
retro-spec fiberglass sunroof replacement
and stickers.
cars that run are retarded anyway.

as much as I hate to admit it, I might not drive this year. This car is about to go back under the knife for a full overhaul. I'm sick of dealing with all the ghetto hack job bullshit. So until next time...

aint no race car anything. My wiring is fucked, nothing works, so I'm fixing it the easiest and fastest way I know how.
I've been ignoring it since I bought the car because it got the job done, but its not cutting it anymore.

Race cars can be fucking cool, provided that it isn't sponsored by anything. (Matt Powers car comes to mind to demonstrate this)

i just want my shit to work. I want it to start and run every time I turn the key, and I want all my lights and buttons and gauges that should work to work. I don't know how that makes it a "race car"
Right now my car starts probably 1 out of 10 tries, it rarely will make it more than a mile from my driveway without dying and needing to be towed back or sit for an hour before I try to start it again. None of my gauges work or light up. Only one headlight motor works, and the headlights light up and flicker when I press the brake pedal. I blow alternator fuses almost daily. This thing is just fucked and I need to start over.
If having a car that works like it should is having a "race car", then fuck street cars.

"update" sortof.
well a few days ago a few friends and I took the crv down to tennessee and brought back this pile.
super clean chassis, good paint, red top, vertex, working HUD, s14 seats etc. Should be fun once he puts some suspension and better wheels on it. It drove 13 hours back from TN like a champ, you'd never guess it was a swapped car.
but onto my pile.
I drove it like 10 miles the other day, it was running fine. Parked it, went to drive it the next day and nothing, it was totally dead. So i tore it apart...
pulled all the stock wiring out, as well as my map conversion, which is pretty much sold, and other shit.
This is all going in the trash.
this is going back in the car.
and this is getting sold.
Then I went ahead and put all new chassis harnesses in, but thats about as far as I've gotten.

word. This should be interesting.
Some dude agreed to buy my map stuff for 500 bones. Once he pays me I'm picking up a 20v ITB setup and MS 2.2
and I still have to rekey my crank since the keyway is all fucked up and my timing is way out of wack.
I ended up pulling out like a mile of fucked up wiring shit.
