That would be the only reason I'd get one. KA's sound like poo, SR's are decent, RB's sound pretty cool.

We have a RB26 swapped car at iLL (which is a PITA, esspecially since he want's to keep the twins). Cool motors, though heavy and they suck to work on compared to an SR.

dropped off the block to the machine shop. Getting new rings installed, rod and main bearings, redecked for a cosmetic MLS headgasket, and getting a crank collar installed to fix the oil drive issue. I am probably not going to be getting the crankshaft knife edged. The machinist said that a lighter flywheel or driveshaft will be more noticeable and that it would be better to invest that money elsewhere on the engine.


Also got some east bear mirrors coming in on monday.

Will probably start messing around with the head later this week.

Mirrors came in. Ordered a nismo thermostat and N1 oil pump. Should be getting them friday.

Good shit though!!

dropped off the oil pump to the machine shop today so he can machine the crank collar properly.

The block is completely stripped down, and he said that it looks like it has low miles. No scoring on the bearings and none of them have been spun either.



Finalized the work that is going to be done to the block:

-Hot tanking
-Honing
-ACL Main Bearings
-ACL Race rod bearings
-New rings
-Crank Collar
-Polish crankshaft journals
-New freeze plugs
-Resurface the block


Probably going to get a tomei HG instead of a cosmetic. Apparently people with RBs have problems with the cosmetic MLS gasket sealing even with the block/head resurfaced.

Might start working on the head this week if i can get my hands on a torpedo

its because they suck.

I got a cometic, so far its done its part. I heard that people who
have problems with it are those who dont prep the surface properly.

Bill knows his motors... The RB he's building is actually a RB26 stroker, RB25 block with an RB26 crank.

Not my personal motor, but customer's. Hewill probably do the machine work for my 2ZZ.
