RB's sound good regardless of exhaust. But, they sound better louder.

I'll see how loud it gets in the cabin when I remove the remaining sound deadening. If its not too bad, I will delete my cat with a straight pipe.

Just think about it this way, you wont be able to hear the crap I say whenever I drive with you in the car IF you get the Buddy Club spec 2.....

ran into two issues with parts:

-two bolts were missing/misplaced for the water pump, so I had to make a trip to autozone for replacements

-Tensioner spring is missing. Either the spring was not supplied with the new tensioner or I lost the spring. Either way I need to find it or stop by the nissan dealership and get a replacement.

Other than that things are moving along:

Its actually the "red" one. I was looking though it and it said it was good for oil pans. Why is that one bad? Something I miss about it?

Will stop by a honda dealership for the hondabond

I've seen them leak, a lot. I use Hondabond. It's like $10-13 for the stuff though. (Toyota FIPG, Nissan whatever are the same thing iirc, different packaging)

spent an hour today reorganizing the garage to be roomier and pulled the motor. Took a bit longer than I hoped, but at least its out and now I can start prepping the engine bay.

Are those brackets OE? I like that.

Yea OE. I just had to grind down this one section where it curves around so it fits inside the bumper.

got some spots that need to be welded. Most important being this split

It looks like nissan used seam sealer on that metal seam from the factory. You may be able to just use some of that stuff. If you look in the pic that textured looking stuff that looks smeared on is seam sealer and it looks to be peeling back. Just a thought

I was thinking of using seam sealer after ridding it of all rust, but I am going to stitch weld the engine bay, so I am just going to weld that spot on both sides of the car.




Finished cleaning/degreasing. The crossmenber is still grimey as fuck. Tomorrow going to start grinding, sanding, and welding.

nissan uses seam sealer, but when the metal separates you cant just seal it back together. Unless you want your strut tower to come off completely, you have to re weld it..
