96 with motorwork done, will it pass emissions?

I'm thinking about throwing a t25 turbo onto my KA24DE, and possibly some 370cc injectors (might stick with the stock 270cc), and my only concern is the car passing emission tests. It'd be properly tuned to run on e87 fuel, and I'd run 9PSI boost at max. So basically, would it pass emission tests with a turbo? And does anyone have a 96+ that has a turboed motor that still passes? Thanks.

The reason I want to do this, is because I'm afraid the stock motor won't have enough power to get the car to drift...

I have a stock ka. I beat the fuck out of it. It goes sideways. No one calls me a faggot. I do the name calling. Plus asking if something like that passing emissions is like guessing whos going to win the super bowl this year. It just has to pass on the correct nox levels ect.ect.ect. Why would you run 97 octane on a turbo motor? Gonna knock like crazy.

Passing a OBD2 car comes down to 2 things. No CEL, and running all the monitors. There is no sniffer test in IL anymore. For being 79 years old, you sure don't know much Wink

Okok my bad. What fuel do you recommend I use then if I don't tune.

Id assume you need SOME sort of tune.....just changing fuel does not quite cut it.

I would guess that too. But I can't tune on the stock ecu? If I were to use a different ecu, and tune with that, and then when emission testing comes around, swap ecu's, would I be able to get the turbo to not screw with everything so it wouldn't run like shit, without of course taking the whole setup off?

I would suggest registering it in a county that doesn't have emissions (farm town) or be ready to swap to stock around emissions time.

idk if the loop hole has been fixed, but people used to use PO Boxes for this sort of purpose before...

buy a standalone, alot of them have features that hide CEL's

or

find a shady garage that does testing and pay them off.

won't solve it when they plug in the obd2 port plug and it doesn't show that monitors don't exist.
