| So I have a 92 Hatch that is Whistling, that's right WHISTLING... I started it up today it this loud annoying whistling is happening. When the car is idles and I step on the acel it whistles. I took it to a mechanic and he said that it'sa gasket. I nver heard of a gasket whistling, also it's starting to lieck some type of liquid from the trans. It's transmission fluid. I need HELP please. | |

| is it at least whistling a catchy tune?
maybe drain the oil, to add some rod knock percussion?
and fartcan exhaust to complete the band.

| lmao....
intake manifold gasket could whistle (a big crack or break in it would make a vacuum leak) or another small vacuum leak..
as far as any other gaskets nothing is coming to mind... | |

This may seem stupid, but is it possible that maybe there is something in the exhaust somewhere?
lol every time i think of whistling and exhaust i think of these ricer videos on you tube, of how people put a whistle in their exhaust to make it sound like a BOV lol... some even put toilet paper rolls things... check it out its funny that there are morons out there that do that lol | |

| No, the exhaust is not whistling. I checked out the exhaust, everything is fine on that end. The whistle is coming from the engine bay (lower left side), I'm gonna go with Energ on this. I think the mechanic did say something about a vacuum, but it was awhile baack when I took it in. | |
