| I think my cams might be too rowdy for my valvetrain. Or just rowdy enough.
Valve Spring specs: 13.00mm - max lift 25.50mm - coil bind 180lbs @ 11.50mm lift, open pressure 9.60lbs/mm spring pressure
Cam Specs: 12.30mm - Intake lift, high lobe 288 - Intake duration, high lobe 12.10mm - Exhaust lift, high lobe 286 - Exhaust duration, high lobe
So that leaves 0.70mm between intake cam lift, and valve spring max lift. I'm weary of the spring pressure at that height. It calculates out to 187.68lbs at max lift pushing back. Most manufacturers recommend 1.5mm difference between max cam lift and coil bind. (which I have like 13mm until then), but I'm worried about the seat pressure becoming too much.

| Just bought a PowerFC and got my intake in the mail. I think I'm going to wait for the alternator and water pump to go out before I buy new ones. I'm too broke to keep doing preventative maintenance on this anymore.
Motor is going in very, VERY soon. Might start on it early next week.

| bought a bunch of stuff I don't need 7.2lb flywheel for the 2zz (lightest one on the market) More chassis bracing. Braces the frame rails to the steering rack. I already have the large center brace pictured. There's also a rear brace, but I think it will interfere with the oil cooler stuff on my 2zz or the Moroso oil pan. | |
