New guy to 240SX.

I live in the Northern Suburbs of Illinois. I just picked up my first 240 about a moth ago. I was driving Hondas before... and i got tired of fwd, so I picked up this 240. . It was siting for 4 years so it's really in bad shape.

The previous owner tried to do a timing chain replacement and did it wrong, hitting every valve on the head lol. I got a new head, replaced it and fixed all the stuff he fucked up. It's stock for now. I'm just waiting on funds to actually start changing stuff. Specially the wheels and coilovers.

Btw that POS foam wing is gone, that was the first thing i took off.

I'll try no too, I have get coilovers for sure though. I will use them for mostly Track/Daily but they will be abused. Any that you recommend? I've been looking at some PBM or JIC Magics. Any thoughts?

Any 1000 coilover will perform all pretty much the same. For obvious reasons you'll hear Stance pop up in the next few comments I'd imagine.

I've heard good things about Stance too. I ask because I've been in cars with either PBM and JIC. I liked both, but i was more bent on the PBM's, but i wanted to hear a different opinion.

i agree with this, iv have/had stances, emotor, megan, and some shit footwerk brand. the difference is so fucking tiny unless you can match is with supporting suspension pieces, in my opionion thats the only way you can fully utilize good coilovers.

Actually, my car came with Form and Function Type II. I don't really care for them. I just say Stance because it's local and easier to get rebuilt if shit goes wrong, as opposed to sending shit to Japan or China and waiting 6 months to have another set just cleaned and send back in just as shitty of condition.

I have pbm. aside from stiffness, they are no different from the abused ass 5 year old megans that were on the car when I bought it.

10k/8k is the shit. I remember everyone telling me I fucked up getting them... but I like them much more than 8k/6k. For Stance coils at least.

I feel like because of how they're valved, they are better with stiffer springs. Idk.

Dont pay attention to what people say. Almost nobody knows anything.

10k 8k is the heat. I like to take EMUSA's, break them down, switch the strut bodies from front to rear since the fronts are shorter, and drop in 10k 8k Stance short height springs. I dont give a fuck, I'm never paying 1400 dollars for coilovers again. Not to mention the lower bushing on my rear stances kept eating shit and then my coilover would slide of my spindle..

I liked my fortune auto coils I had on my old s13. They felt super smooth. But if I where to do it again I would most likely get EMUSA. Why spend that much more on a shitty 240?

I'm a stashwhore. I like having cool parts on my car. That's why I ordered Stances that STILL hasn't showed up instead of buying some cheap shit over here.

But if I had a 240, I'd rather buy cheap coils so I had more money to put towards other stuff.

Yea I hate people who rather waist massive amounts of money on Rare expensive parts then instead of driving. It's funny when u see a fully built bad ass car and dude can't drive it for dick.
