| if you have a fuel gauge, tee it in the fuel line and see if your getting the right amount of fuel pressure. if anything where your fuel filter is, disconnect and put int in a container and see how much fuel is coming from it. sometimes your filter is clogged but being someone that has done an sr swap shoudl know that lol. They also sell the spark testers that connect to the spark plug to check that. if you have a harbor freight by you that would be your best bet because those items i described were cheapest there for me at least. Wish you luck in your swap and hopefully things get worked out. keep us updated. | |

| yes and no. it does make sense that if you were cranking and it wasnt starting that if were spark your plugs would be covered in gasoline and would reak of them. do you hear your fp prime? have you checked with a test light to see if it has power? sometimes it could be the ground too. when you did the swap did you mix up the fuel feed and return lines? best thing to do is get a fuel gauge and heck to see if your getting the right pressure, borrow from a friend or get one, they are not that expensive. when I did work on my e30, i mixed the fuel lines up and that was my problem. if worse comes to worse and those are both good (considering you have fuel and spark) maybe its your maf? | |

| if it were the engine harness its not connected to the fuel pump so i would assume it wouldn't be the harness thats the problem if you think its fuel. | |

| didnt read the thread, but check to see if you have the lines going to the fuel rail reversed. That would cause the motor to nor run, or to just briefly run before dying quickly | |

Thats what I told him, its very common to do that and its a simple mistake that happens often. something as simple like that is causing you to enjoy such a little car | |

| yeah at first i did mess up the lines but that was before i even tryed starting it. and i replaced the maf with one i had that i know was good too. and when the engine was running in the hatch when i even touch an injector connector it would misfire so maybe the connections are fucked now that i was messing with it? | |

| well seems as if you have fuel, and since you did the swap you should know which side is feed and which is return on the fuel rail. best bet is to invest or borrow a spark tester and see if your getting spark, and from there if you are not check to see where on the wiring harness is the connection not going through and either a hack it and reconnect it, or jsut get a new wiring harness. but before you do any of those, check to make sure if your getting spark or not. | |
