That just sends the information to your temp gauge on your dash.
So if you're positive your shit is not gonna overheat then go ahead rock out.

DOHC KA's and SR's have two sensors; a 1 wire, and a 2 wire sensor. One for the gauge, one for the ECU. I haven't worked on a SOHC for a long time, but I would assume they are no different.

yup, SOHC have two sensors also, a one pin that when i disconnect it the gauge goes down to cold, the other is a 2 pin with a red connector, thats the one i have disconnected at the moment. which i was told was the coolant temp sensor, i dunno what exactly it does because i have it disconnected and my cars idle is high when its cold and after the car warms up it goes back down to normal which i know thats normal warming process, i figured thats what the 2 pin sensor controlled.

i dont get it, when the sensor is plugged in my cars idle acts like my IACV is bad and my car runs really rich, didn't know something that small cause cause so many damn problems
