Lets get D*star some help!

Ok...heres the problem, I cant rev past 3500 rpm in 5th on the highway if i floor it. I hit a fuel cut. It also does this to me in all the other gears if i floor it but all at different revs. The problem started when my speed sensor fell out. I replaced that and the speedo works again but its really erratic sometimes and the fuel cut never went away. I need help! Any ideas?

It seems low for a rev limiter, but maybe thats it . I would just get an auto ecu and go from there, since u don't really lose anything. It could be that driving the car without the speed sensor confused the ecu, but I have no clue about that

I think they used the fuel cutoff for 89-90 and ignition cutoff 91-94

I already eliminated the limiter, Did it at the same time I put in the speed sensor.

Thats how i discovered this problem, i wanted to see if it would limit me, floored it, and BAM cuts me of at 85mph.

the only thing that comes to my mind isur ecu running in safemode, that would explain every gear limit

(did u remove speed limiter, or rev limiter?)

Its probably that speed sensor. I told you it may not work compleatly cause its not for your car. But anyway, when I was having dash problems, my speedo would cut out and when that happend my cruise control wouldn't work (or if I had it on when the speedo cut out it would shut off) and I would get fuel cuts. I believe it has something to do with the ecu not being compleatly sure how fast your going so it just says no.

I would just get a new speed sensor for your car and if that doesn't do the trick, possibly a new gauge cluster. Once I got a new cluster in my car the problem was gone.

As far as whats done to the engine, just minor bolt ons, Intake, Test pipe, straight 2.5 inch exhaust after that....and some other little bullshit that doesnt matter.

It came from my redtop trans. I figured he could use it to just plug the hole... I wasn't expecting it to actually plug in and read the speed.

Get one for your car dude... should be pretty cheap. Maybe even find one from someone parting their car.

on my old tranny i could have gave u mine but i sold the trans w/ everything

the tranny was pretty fucked lol. I was able to break my tires loose into 2nd gear w/ my auto trans lol


o yeah, i also blew the sensor completly out of my current tranny lol.

I looked under my car after my speedo stopped and i was like wtf! lol

my speed sensor is messed up i think cuz sometimes my speedo works good sometimes its a little off and sometimes it dont work at all. i dont get fule cuts but my cruise control does turn off at times when the speedo dont work but sometimes it doesent. so i dont think that thats ur problem man its got to be somethin else
