That will go nicely with Lingenfelter LS2 M122 that they sell for $9K average T56 goes for around $1200 if you happen to get your motor with an auto trans. Shit is pretty bomb proof, and Viper spec rebuild kits are dirt cheap for it. The double overdrive is bad-ass.
But most LS1 swaps will be out of some wrecked camaro etc. that you can have for 1K more than average SR.
hell, if you want to lower the cost, going with castiron L76/LQ4/LQ9 block out of trucks, and you can have that for dirt cheap (1k-ish). GM's shit is like LEGOs. Bingo which is why my next venture will have to be a GM V8 swap.... that or just stick to KAs, the whole RB and SR thing never won me over. Dont get me wrong they are all fun motors, but I like to have parts readily available as in over the counter. In both cases GM V8s and KAs win.

| SR's parts are plentiful, but whatever you got to tell yourself....
Stick to KA, its plenty capable and costs less than a good hooker or some blow.

| sr is the best in my opinion thats y i own 3 but ka24e and ka24de are very reliable daily drivers the two ka24de i had turbo'd with stock internals both blew and rb take up the whole engine bay so a little more difficult to change dumb stuff + parts are more expensive but im not saying that i wont own a rb26dett one day | |
