Not a 240sx owner yet but will be in a few months

Hey guys how is it going? I figured I would introduce myself after getting banned for not posting.

I'm bumming around the site learning about and checking out 240's that can give me idea for what I want to do with mine once I get it over the summer.

Im from carpentersville. If anyone is that area is selling an s14 over the summer you should let me know

welcome. Make sure that when you get your first one do basic maintenance, rust removal/prevention, and other stuff so you will start with a good base.

Defiantly try to find one rust free, and 95 would be best because then no SMOG.

If you can not find one rust free in our area or surrounding state's then your best would be to go a state that doesn't have snow. It wont cost that much to drive it out from CA for example to Chicago.
Plane ticket would be around 300-350 and maybe about the same for gas on the way back, however, if the price is decent its worth making the trip out there.

Wtf are you talking about... I did all the math on this shit because i almost was going to go to Florida to pick up a S14 that was for sale on Zilvia for a really nice price... but the ass hole decided to sell it and not wait for me.

It actually is not all that much, gas is relatively cheap right now.

Plane ticket to Ca for example would be 350, and don't question me on that because I worked at O'hare for a year and a half!

Also lets say its 2000 miles from here to Ca, and lets say you average about 25 MPG, which should not be that hard in a 240sx, if its stock, or just a Sr20 tuned decently.

If my memory serves me right, I think the S14 holds 17 gallons of gas.

One fill up from empty to full will run you about 20-30 depending on what state you are in. With the full tank of gas, getting 25mpg that will be 425miles that the car will travel one a full tank of gas.

When you divide 2000 by 425 you get 5 or so fill ups. Then if you multiply the 5 fill ups by, lets say $30 for a full tank, you get $150....


The above works if you time the drive back carefully and do all high way driving in 5th gear most of the way.
