I took my CA block to Precision Engine Rebuilders in Plainfield Illinois. They did a great job on my block assembly and cylinder head machining! Here is there number 1-815-254-2333. www.per-race-engine.com The guy you want to talk to is Randy Crowley, he's the owner. My stuff came out to be ~$900.00 but it does depend on what you have done to the engine.

well for all machining i need done to the motor including valving for the cams and all that shit... he gave me a rough estimate of about $1300 to pull, disassemble, machine, reassemble, install, make it run. then some other cash here and there for other things. that's 1300 for 272 cams forged pistons turbo oil lines clutch gauges dp headgasket valve springs and retainers rods think it's a good deal? i gota go to TF soon and give them my ECU to send out to Enthalpy ASAP

| go for quality work, not a price tag.
1K in work at one shop, doesn't equal the same quality/amount of work at another.

1K in work at one shop, doesn't equal the same quality/amount of work at another. yea... and 2 shops can charge the same price or more and do a bad job... which is why i'm asking where to go and who's got the best pricing.

| only problem i had with Land-Air Associates was that the head was not cleaned after machining. so i have to clean all the metal shavings out on a lighter side, they resurfaced my head for $60 and cleaned a bunch of parts for $45. pretty reasonable prices imo | |

| sorry to bring back a thread from the dead but i'm currently looking for a machine shop also. Something local that does stuff for a decent price. Hone/resurface/3 angle valve job/cleaning. This is for my z32. I'm looking at an affordable place...this project is making me broke. don't need it to be assembly everything is already apart just need to clean it and hone/clean. thanks | |
