| If your new to the whole 240 thing. Have very little money, yet want to improve the performance of your car? Then Nothing will improve performance of your vehicle then reducing the weight of it, thus tipping the power-to-weight ratio towards your side. If you're at the point of buying the car, then i suggest you get one without a sunroof, because it adds alot of weight. The 1st thing most guys do out there first is take out the rear seats, when you consider that only one person can sit.. i mean lye down back there, and if you want to sit, then you have to have no legs. The seats are really pointless if you think about it. I guess Nissan tried to squeez a sedan into a small ass sports car. The 2nd thing that alot of people get rid of to reduce weight is take out all the sound dampening in the car. If you're wondering what the hell that is, well its that tar looking crap thats under the carpet and all around the car. You can use a whatever you want to take it off, sometimes it comes off by it self, but remember the key is patience, if you can't take it then i suggest dont even beggin. The 3rd thing that you can do is take out the interior hatch, that cloth one that hangs by ropes on the hatch it self. The 4th thing you can do is remove any rust you have dangling on the car and then sand that spot down and paint it with that rubberized coating crap.(autozone/PepBoys) The 5th thing you can do is take out all the plastic covers in the car. (i suggest not to remove the ones that hide the seat belt rails, thats when your car starts looking like a skeleton) The 6th thing you can do is cut off the front bumper support, even if you dont have an intercooler, it gives you space for a future one perhaps and still takes off a couple lbs. The 7th thing you can do is if you have the leather seats (which came in the Le models) ditch those and put in some cloth ones or the pepboys shit, what ever. Just loose the leather since it weighs alot. The 8th thing you can do is remove your power steering pump, yes you wont have power steering (cry about it) but atleast your loosing some weight you fat ass. The 9th thing you can do is remove the lower seat belt assembly ( both passanger and driver side), the ones you have to manually put on (not the one that slides automatically). The 10th thing you can do is If you have an s13 with a hatch that has windshield wiper and wing, get rid of that shit, and get a hatch without either of which. (without the wiper when it rains might become harder to see, seeing that the window is so slanted that the water almost builds up on the hatch.) The 11th thing you can do is take off the mud flaps if you have them. the 12th thing you can do is remove your gay license plate frames which serve no purpose towards performance of the car. The 13th thing you can do is (this is no longer cheap by the way) Convert to the s13 silvia front end and maybe throw in a carbon fiber hood in there too. (you will loose more then 50lbs from this, thats with the CF hood) The 14th thing you can do is Remove the Windshield wiper fluid resvoir tank, and motor. (try and understand that this is all towards weight reduction, it is up to you if you want to daily drive the car like this... I do ) The 15th thing is well, it goes with the first one, which is don't forget to take out the seat belt assembly in the rear as well, along with all the dam hinges and crap. The 16th thing you can do is buy a tread mill and loose some dam weight you fat piece of crap . The 17th thing you can do is, if you cant afford to buy a tread mill, then higher Nackers to drive your car for you at the track. He's cheap, very light, and a good driver . | |

| Actualy it all depends on the type of person you are, if you depend on such things then perhaps this isn't for you, but if your the type that can take that kinda shit then (Not calling you a pussy or anything like that ) i suggest trying some of these. I have most of that shit done to my car, and well i've been riding like this more then a year, thats right, i drove like this in spring, summer, fall, and winter, and still do, but sure if my car put down like 450 to the wheels i would probably wouldn't mind putting that crap back on. | |

| hah, All that stuff i bet u'd only loose like 100lbs if that. My rear seats stay folded down but one day i might rip them out and come up with a cover to look OEM without them. Thats if ur a hardcore track guy u would do all that shit. Good write up though lol. | |

| I dont feel that the front end is really a huge difference i think the cf hood would really b the biggest difference the silvia front end is basically just for that jdm look and originality from the usdm 240 | |

| eh... no sil-eighty unless is s13.5 imo. Box + round looks funny to me. But the S15 front looks pretty hot on a hatch. | |

| so loseing 25 lbs is gonna make ur the FastR ??? its pretty marginal , if ur gonna drop weight u should be thinking where the weight is comeing off equally, yanking weight here and there just upsets the balance, get coilovers, get scales then pull if u wanna do it right | |

| few things missed: 1. relocate your battery after all, weight loss won't really help unless you retain your car's balance. 2. instead of cutting your bumper supports, remove them both. 3. sun roof only weighs 15lbs, leave it at home or make one out of acrylic which weighs less than a solid roof. 4. ACRYLIC WINDOWS!! 5. remove your a/c keep in mind that anything under 30lbs you won't notice, but it does add up! 6. upgrade your suspension, lose 40lbs | |

Since i am planning on getting an RB (after coilovers, brakes, and other handling mods) I figured that maybe the silvia end would compensate for the heavier engine so to not upset the wight balance (even thouigh it is said that the CG would only move forward about 2-3% w/ rb's). Plus I like the way ti looks.

Also i know (not personally) this one guy who put an s15 front on an s13 with a cf hood, lost 53.9lbs(he weighed it), so who ever says it's only for looks don't know what they be talkin about
