| what is the worst thing that can happen swiping the ground? i had my suspension on soft today and let me say chicago roads SUCK. i don't know what swiped but i heard a couple "SQHHHHHH" noises (yea i actually tried to sound it out) don't know if its wheels hitting fenders or something else. so yea i was jus curious what is the worst thing that can happen if ur ride is too low? | |

| You know i never understood why you would want to "ride" so low. It seems like "the" thing to do. I suppose its on the goals of the driver/car. I noticed it leads to damage to oil pans, suspension parts, fenders, wiring harnesses, etc. But i guess it looks cool right? | |

W3RD. so true. cars look great slammed, but its not practical on the streets. just the other night i saw a slammed crx completely demolish his front bumper (bodykit), trying to turn out of an alley. didnt notice the large dip. like everyone said, just check under the car and see what you can find.

Flush and low is the only way to roll. If thats not your motto your in the minority for 240sx's. Oil pans get skidplates put in front of them, suspension parts are upgraded to unbreakable ones, fenders are pulled and harnesses are tucked. You gotta work for it.

| actually ive seen 240's where the exaust piping isnt exactly as high as it can safely be place.... making it a little bit (like a cm.) lower than the oil pan..... thats that muffler shot installation for u, when they fab their own hangers and wat not.... | |

Oil pans get skidplates put in front of them, suspension parts are upgraded to unbreakable ones, fenders are pulled and harnesses are tucked. You gotta work for it. "Flush and low" is ONE way of rolling. Its merely for looks, atleast in my opinion. It does look cool i agree. I dig that look, but if i wanted to actually compete on a track lets say, and keep up with others either by time or car on car action, id consider my setup a little more. I can see how for "having sex with midgets," sliding, drfiting, etc. etc. its not as important as youre not really "racing" anyone, its more of a show-off type thing. Like anything else, you can either have too little or too much of something. Its up to the owner and their goals and what theyre trying to achieve. You know what i am a minority thinker i suppose, but id rather know what im doing and know why im doing what im doing than just following whats "cool and in." Im not saying any of you guys are this way, and i dont know you guys personally to know that but If i did know you like that, id probably mention something about it or give some helpful advice.

| Well, believe me, me and my friends dont need any of your "helpful advice"..we know well enough what were doing and you probably wouldnt get to know us like that. But thanks for your valued opinion... | |

| thants why they make after market parts. to correct and adjust your suspension so you dont have a harsh ride and awful bumpsteer from slamming your car. you could litterally replace every suspension component on the cars. (as you should) | |

| this is the exact reason why when people tell me to make my car lower i tell them no...
1. i live in an area with potholes, dips, and hills
2. the soft-ish springs i have give me a non spine jarring ride
3. i have plenty of suspension travel so when i hit an expansion joint on the highway at 120 kph i don't leave the ground
[but anyways back on topic, check your oil pan... seriously]
