| I Know this is going slow but I'm not giving up on it. I have done many small things such as all the brake and gas lines, Powder coated the rear subframe, solid bushings, all adjustable arms, Megan sway bar, Dual caliper setup, upgraded rotors, hawk pads, and the 300zx rear calipers but am still missing a set. I also upgraded the front with 30mm 300zx setup. Car is running but have to hook up a few minor things. I am getting started on the body work soon! I'm still undecided on the tune...any suggestions or anybody running anything they can recommend? | |

| As far as tune, can never go wrong with a pfc. Dual caliper setup aye? You gonna drive the wheels off this thing? | |

| Yes left t field is correct haha. LXZ's were the wheels I wanted from birth. I know the the arms cheap but they will do for now.
I was looking into a PFC and it would probably work for what I want to run but their are so many options. My buddy was talking about Mega squirt tune. I know it sounds like a video description from xnxx but I hear good things. Any of you know about it?

| But seriously though, all I ever read about mega squirt is dudes who cant get their shit to run right or it randomly loses its fuel maps or some bullshit. There is a bunch of threads on ZT with dudes who buy MS first then buy Haltech or some shit after months of headaches. | |

| megasquirt is like the linux of the standalone world. Nerds love it because its totally open source and all that other bullshit, but it NEVER fucking works right. and somehow the nerds try to spin that as a good thing by saying shit like "yea, its the best because it takes a real geek to figure it out" yet no ones shit EVER works reliably with MS.
just get a real standalone. there is a reason megasquirt costs like 200 dollars. just get PFC or AEM. plug and play.

| Fuck, I need to read up on tunes. That and electricity (harnesses) are like the only two things I'm fucking clueless about.
This project might turn out real good BTW. Keep it up dude.

Pretty much what Edgar and Ryan said. Megasquirt rarely works. We had a Miata at ILL Garage with it and it was nothing but problem after problem. We got it to finally run, but the thing had way too much time sunk into it. Get PFC or better yet, AEM Series 2 or Infinity. If I did it all again, I would get AEM Infinity. PFC works, yes. But with my less common application, it took some trial and error and constant tinkering since no one had a good base map for my cams. ILL Garage knows AEM and Nistune well. We made good power on Alex/MEGAS KA-T S14 as well as a handfull of others. I think Chris/DirtyDee had Nistune on his RB20 when we tuned it too. Looking to do it once and be done? AEM takes the cake. It works better, easier to tune, more tuners know it, and it offers more features. Plus Series 2 and Infinity have CAN outputs that can run Stack data loggers so you don't have to double up on sensors, should you ever go that route. PFC has aged and Apex'i hasn't done too much to update it. Hell, they don't officially have the software available and you will have to end up buying a Datalogit/FC-Hako and download FC-Edit (Google it, you may find a certain someone's blog with the file) to tune on a computer... or you can waste you tuner's time (and your money) and tune off the stupid PFC Commander.

| yea my AEM seems to do fucking everything. I'm planning on bringing it to Ill garage for fine tuning once the car is ready to go. My tune should be like 98% solid, but i might as well make sure
