I like and rock sportmax/xxr. 390 shipped for an entire set of new wheels is stupid to pass up. They are wear items....

Sportmax's are generally peoples first set of wheels, everyone gets the wrong idea by actually thinking we really like or prefer them..

Shrug... I really like and prefer them, they are cheap/round and hold air. Overpriced wheels are for suckers for the most part.

And last I checked... 15x8 options don't really work in OEM sizes.

i.e. Volk TE37 or Enkei RPF-1

They both have style

They both are light as fuck

They both come in a variety of colors and sizes to suit the application

And in the case of RPF-1's, they are relatively cheap as well.


Then there is the option of buying pre-owned. All my wheels have been pre-owned and in really/pretty good shape. Like in the case of the Saleen replica's...

I'm sittin at $750 in wheels and tires.

Basically, I'm just saying there are other good options for cheap wheels other than sportmax that are similarly priced.

I just couldn't pass up the bang for the buck that the XXRs offered. 390 shipped to my door for new 15x8 wheels... its silly.

I also know at some point I'll damage/destroy them (as any wheel would eventually have happen to it) on/off track. So replacement cost is nice also... under 100 and I have a new wheel on the car. VS trying to find some older used/discontinued model wheel or one that is very costly to replace by itself.

I only care about it as a wear item for track use. Hopefully that keeps my viewpoint in perspective.

Why spend/waste more money on a light wheel when I can just turn up the boost?

why not just buy some diamond star wide steelies? you can get them even cheaper (like $60 each) and wider.

Actually heavier and more expensive to buy diamonds. Trust me, I looked. Even tried to find off brand companies doing the same.

The cheapass sportmax/xxr wheels fit the bill.

Crashed into curbs with them a couple times and the curb shattered. I did not find any damage on the wheel.

When I was carrying my Works into the garage, I accidentally hit one on a wooden door frame and it took a huge chunk out of the lip.

i dont know why, i abused the shit out of my equips and sold them the Dabs and they were still in pretty good shape minus a little curb rash on the lips.

whatever you guys wanna buy is cool with me but ill always rock blings.
