| so yeah an update. i just replaced two bad fuel injectors yesterday and the car is till running like shit. two cyl still. did a compression test and the two cyl in the middle barely have compression at all. tried adding some oil in the spark plug tubes and got better numbers. now i know i need new rings. so this sucks. i think i am going to need help. only rebuilt an engine in engines class, so i have an idea. but if anyone has any words of advice. let me know. does anyone have a cherry picker to lend? | |

| yeah to see if it fills in the gap between the rings. if it holds and then compression is up. that means the rings are worn. | |

| kinda forgot the numbers. around 130ish on 1 and 4. less then 110 in 2 and 3. ill have to test again tomorrow for accurate numbs. i forgot about a leak down test. but i dont know anywhere to rent out the gauge. i dont have a compressor either. | |

| 130 and 110? I know they're not exactly the same but I dunno if thats bad enough to have to do a rebuild. | |

| KA? idk nt really following this thread. but ur compression #'s should be around 170-160. thats pretty bad if ur #'s are accurate.
autozone rents out compression gauges too.

| Yeah my numbers are really low compared to spec. i know that my rings are the issue because cyl 2 n 3 are not holding enough compression to create ignition. I have fuel fouled plugs and the intake and exhaust manifold have fuel in the ports. I also made sure it wasnt the plugs because i switched out plugs from the other cylinders. and still same shit. I have spark. so rebuilding the engine is now on the agenda. | |

| OK THIS IS AN UPDATE! I just finished taking out the engine just 20 mins ago. It wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. This was my first time taking an engine out btw and i am pretty happy with how things turned out. Here are some pics and i have been doing a lot of thinking. I am really considering going KA-T. I did some research and potential power is decent to what im looking for since im a novice driver anyway. Right now im focusing all my attention on suspension set up and a dependable motor/trans. Will be getting the engine checked out within the following weeks and if all is well, rebuild is inevitable. . hmm pics came out shitty...oh well ill fix it later. | |

| Ok so you guys know I'm rebuilding my engine. I have to take the head of and see what size rings I will be needing. In the meanwhile I recently got my coils in and here are the progress pics so far. Trans and engine separated. Had hard time with the intake manifold. didnt know the the upper plenum had to come off. I notice this when I was doing the coils. Ehh it's fixable. I know you guys have seen stances a million times. But they are a Huge difference. After i put em on. i just did the right side. i was being lazy so ill get to the other side when im ready. Test fitting, needs to be lower. Im going to slam it all the way.lol So thats progress so far. estimated completion date. Junish. to get it running i Still need: rings welded diff weld the fender well electric fan misc. hoses and gaskets. | |

| Yeah i really do need to go lower. I was just testing them out, so ill take the advice and make all the collars touch. I will have to relocate the harness in the fender? didnt know that, good thing ecko told me that or I wouldn't have done it.
Progress is slow but coming along pretty well.
Edgar I will need your expertise when im ready for wheel fitment. I loved what you had with the your red ssr's...HOT!
Thanks for the input guys more updates will come.
