4 things.

1st... Intro thread jimbo.

2nd... why do you have your bov so far away from your turbo?

3rd... why is your STB off? Just pull the motor or something?

4th... do you have a fan shroud? Do you have any cooling issues without it?

1. not familiar with this

2. bought the car this way, works fine though. I've seen it placed on the other side(my side) of the intercooler before on plenty of well calibrated cars (i.e. Touge Factory did all the work on my car, I trust their judgement)

3. the STB that was originally on it was for the KA, the SR rises up too far to be able to use the KA bar, but i have the bar and a friend is going to weld the bar so it'll fit.

4. No, I don't have any cooling issues without the fan shroud, it has a Nismo thermostat that keeps everything under control

Its been said that having the bov too far away from the turbo will make the car more likely to hae compressor surge. Sounds cool, but is bad for the turbo.

I had a KA STB and it fit fine with my Sr.

Nice to see you don't have cooling issues. I have been thinking about going back to mechanical with help from an electrical on a switch.

how can you tell if you have a problem with surge? my system spools up and boosts fine, but thats interesting, i've never heard of surge happening because of that

i knew a guy that had a fan switch for his SR and seemed pretty happy with it

If your bov doesn't go off, you have surge. I have surge cause the spring in my bov is too stiff (can't do anything but get a new one) and the bov doesn't open so I hear the turbo go sshhhuu, sshhu, shu. Though it does sound cool, its not good for the turbo. You ever see thoes high HP big turbo supra vids? Most of them have compressor surge though it sounds slightly diffrent cause they have big turbos where ours are small.

Take a short drive in your car and get about 4psi at like 3k and let off. If you hear something that isn't your bov, its probably surge. Placing the bov closer to the turbo may help that.

I don’t think it matters for the turbo on witch side bow is but I think they put bow on the other side so when it opens up it won’t confuse computer/mafs like atmospheric bov’s usually do.

I have heard the same thing with the surge because mine is semi-far from the turbo not as far as your but down near the intercooler

You cant see my car too well but i dont care...haha...

im repainting the whole car red no motor mods yet still debating between turboing the ka or just swaping the sr20 i dunno yet just doing the body till i figure it out
