PostSubject: Brake Pads   Brake Pads Icon_minitimeNovember 29th 2006, 2:31 am

As many say, stopping is in the pads.

So to go along with my new slotted rotors, i need some new pads to replace the old ones that arent really brake pads. i've owned axxis pads on my old integra, but i havent tried anything else out personally, so i wouldnt know first hand.

so this question is for you guys who have run a few different brands. what is a good pad for daily street use, yet still track-able? i want little brake dust (white wheels!!!) and i dont want a racing compound that requires me to heat up every morning so my brakes will actually stop me....

im looking at products from Axxis, Hawk, Project Mu, AEM, Endless, and EBC.

thanks,
-kevin

I had axxis pads last time round, they were dusty as fook.
Right now I am using Hawk HPS, they seem to grip well. Unfortunately my dinky calipers and rotors don't brake well from high speed then once at low speed are difficult to modulate. Once up to temperature they lock up easily.
For autocross use I have a set of Porterfield R4-S's, lots of dust, and squeak, but holy sheet do they stop well.

I run Hawk HPS with my Z32 calipers, and they stop pretty good, especially when I really run my car and braking from high speeds is not a problem, but I also have 4 piston verse your singles.
Since I garage my car, I do have to warm them up slightly, but one or 2 good stops seems to do the trick. I also have drilled/ slotted rotors and SS lines which help.

For those of you running q45 brakes the OEM pads are the best you can get. Better then Axxis Ultimates
