| ok so my car is smoking out of the exhaust. its a white smoke but not antifreeze. the hot pipe is dry (no oil). the ECU is tuned to run really rich to avoid running lean. so my question is if the engine is running rich should it smoke at idle? it doesn't smoke when im driving only at idle.  | |

| Cup your hand around the exhaust, let it ldle for a short time and smell your hand.
If you smell fuel, its rich.
If it smells sweet, coolant.
If you smell crap, buy better toilet paper. | |

| Thanks guys, yea its running really fukin rich. its grey smoke so yea fuel. not to mention my eyes water when im at a stop light LOL | |

| well its yet to be tuned. i had a guy look at it and said i could drive it but it was going to run really rich. but i didnt know it was that bad. do you know if midwest performance in cary is still in buisness? i need a dyno tune | |

| are you sure it is not a head gasket? mine was smoking like a fucxxx old train. people almost died at the meet. LOL | |

| Get a wide band o2 and you would know exactly where it is at... you're probably way under 10 AFR if its smoking at idle.. | |

| yeah i fixed my head gasket and still smokes, checking AFR is not bad idea  i might have to look into it. | |
