Well since most of us on this forum are either students, work part time, have kids, or just cant save up money, im posting up spots in the chicago land area where you could get your diff welded or if you know anyone who will do it, post them up here, well here goes.....

Monroy mufflers- archer and cicero, chicago
Cm werks- Burr ridge, il
Angel-(dont know where he lives but PM him)

Well add your share of spots just for reference, you never know when your diff might break the night before a DD and you need a fast replacement...(and for the record i thought this was a stupid idea but who care)

I can weld diffs. I have done many for people on here and Club FR and I stand by my work.

I am located on the NW side of Chicago near Irving Park, Milwaulkee, and Cicero.

You can PM or email: Rated240r@hotmail.com

Just a quick question. What are ur guys' opinions on welded diffs for daily driving and ocassional drifting. I bought my car with it in and havent saved up enough money for a lsd yet. Some people have told me they snap easy and some say they havent had a prob. Jus wanted some insite. Sorry to kinda change the topic of the thread but i didnt think it was important enough to start a whole new thread about it. And wow i used to live right next to u Rated240R. Portage Park correct? I lived between montrose and irving on milwaulkee

They are fine for daily as long as you understand how its going to make the car behave. As long as your not a ham fisted idiot youll be fine. Just be easy on on/off ramps in the wet/sleet/snow.
Also another thing to remember is the diff remains locked both on and off the throttle so sudden lift off will also cause a bit of shudder. Parking in tight spots will yield some chatter and tire chirpage, but its not that bad at all in my opinon. I support weldeds 100%. Of course a 2-way would be ideal(or 1.5, depending on your purpose), but for the money its a great bargain, it gets the job done and then some.

The guys that have had their diffs welded by me have been ripping on them for a long time now and none have broken! Be wary of where you take it...
