My car sounds like a modded Subaru...

So yeah...I think it sounds pretty hot, but it's obviously not normal. Ever since this happened, my car is very shaky and feels a lot weaker. I'm thinking it might be a messed up spark plug, or injector or something like that. Has anyone ever experienced this? What could it be?

Could be those things you mentioned or also can be a leaky exhaust manifold gasket or leak in your exhaust...Can't really say for sure without seeing/hearing it in person. Curious......

My car did that for like a day, one of my injector harnesses was all jacked up, fixed it and it went away, could also be a vacuum leak or some shit like that. Just start poking around and stuff.
OH dont forget, clean out your maf and see if it helps, i recently had to replace mine and it also causes funky ass idling.

did you wash your engine bay recently?

same thing happend to me. one of my injectors went out. could be a number of things though.

might notice the idle is off if you get one of your plugs wet. shouldnt be anything crazy though unless you SOAKED the engine bay. check the injectors/harness clips. maybe you'll be lucky and only have to clean the clip(s).

Check vacum hoses from the intake by the throttle body also clean maf i had the same thing happen to me, it kind of sounded like a blow off valve every time i shifted. But, i didnt lose any power just fixed it because the idle was high and sometimes low. Also, to many ricers looking at me always wanting to race lol

its not firing on all cylinders
turn it on, start pulling spark plug wires, figure out which cylinder it is.
If thats not the issue, it could be a vac leak.


We had an issue with injector clips as well in a buddy's car, nothing some cleaner wouldn't fix.

So I looked at my car just now. The motor is rocking back and fourth really fast and causing the car to shake. Could that be a bad motor mount too?

And how do I know an injector is bad? Would it be noticeable?

most likely injector. pull the clips off one at a time if you dont notice a change.... you've found the bad one. if the clip is dirty, clean it. if that dosent help, your injector is out.

So I should leave my car on during this?

its rocking back and forth because of misfire. Motor mounts are designed to have give in them.

Seriously Andrew, did you even try fixing it?

BTW if you got SOHC, they got funky clips, so thats why I say pull the cables off the spark plugs to find the cylinder thats not firing. Than pull the spark plug to see if its full of fuel or not - full of fuel means your injector is fine, but ignition is the issue.
