Story time motherfuckers. Kame up daily driver kouki.

So I went out and took pics of the new daily today and while I was out there I thought it would be a good story to tell how this thing fell into my lap. So I'm going to do that too.

The story begins with my friend Mike. Mike is a friend of mine and a true blue honda enthusiast, but also has a thing for 240's kind of. Anyways. Mike wants my civic, but theres a problem. He doesn't have enough money. He had just received an insurance claim for about 3 g's, but I told him there was no way I could let my civic go for under 4, as thats what i needed to get something decent to replace it. So mike is bummed, but moves on, its whatever. So one day a few months later, he texts me saying a friend of his offered him a 97 240 for 1500 dollars. I'm skeptical of anyone selling a 240 in these parts, let alone a kouki for 1500 bucks... So i kind of blow it off and tell him that any kouki is going to be a piece of shit and he should probably just forget about it. He then explains blah blah the car is his roommates and it got crashed into in a roundabout and needs a little work. Now I'm REALLY uninterested... UNTIL he sends me this picture.



HUH? this car got rammed in a roundabout and JUST the door got smashed? Now I'm kind of interested....

Lets back up 5 years.

Enter mystery roommate. We will call him Mr. Anderson... mostly because that is his name. Mr. Anderson is in the marines stationed in San Diego and purchases his dream car, a beautiful pearl white 97 kouki SE model with a 5sp. He drives the car every day, even makes a few trips to and from WI to california. Right up until this past november in Oshkosh, some retarded woman didn't know how to use a roundabout and smashed into him. Somehow on the inside door. No idea how that happened. Anyways, he gives up on the car completely. He tapes the busted window shut, parks it at his parents and leaves it there for 5 months, offering to anyone who will get it out of their driveway.

back to mike and I. I'm interested at this point. AT LEAST interested enough to come out and see the car. Since mike was thinking about buying it and wanted me to take a look. At this point I proposition him and say "hey, depending on what this car looks like, i might be willing to trade you straight up for the civic if you still want it" He jumps on the offer immediately as if it were a done deal. Thats how bad he wants my civic. But still at this time I'm not getting my hopes up, this car was crashed into, and now it had been sitting outside for 5 months of winter. I go and check the car out... lo and behold. It really is clean as fuck, the interior is spotless black cloth, even has oem floor mats still. Take a look at the engine bay, ugly grimey KA as to be expected. and the outside looks mint aside from the door, and that the side skirt clips broke, causing the skirt to pop out.

The car is all stock besides an aftermarket CD player, megan street coilovers, injen intake, hot shot header, and unknown test pipe and 3" exhaust.

Great, the car looks like an S14. But I still need a daily, not a project. So I tell mike I'll do the trade if we make sure this thing is ready to daily. I say I'll source the parts if he pays for them.Then I call on the powers of knowing almost everyone with a drift car within a 200 mile radius and miraculously find a pearl white drivers door for FREE, however its totally stripped and empty. Then Steve on here hits me up and also has doors that are complete. We didn't have a vehicle with us to hold his whole door, so we had him gut it, picked up all the insides, picked up the white skin, and hoped for the best.

Meanwhile I need to make sure this thing actually runs and drives. So i pick up a new battery and oil change supplies at work and head down to oshkosh. I get there, throw a battery in this thing and it fires up like it was a brand new car. We drove it over to the gas station, aired up the tires and went for a cruise, busted door/window and all. Thing drove sweet. All power options worked flawlessly, stereo sounded good, lights all lit up. The car blew me away. But we still have to get a working door on this thing with a window before anything is final. And since we're not sure whats all broken in the stock door, we were just hoping and praying that between the 3 we had available, that we'd be able to cobble something together. To handle this job we called our veteran bodywork technician josh, who has painted more than a few cars on this forum and other local forums. He's up for it, not even scared. He comes over and gets to work pulling off random metal rods and clips, motors, locks, etc etc etc. And I'm just thinking holy fuck, theres no way he's going to be able to put that all back together.

I was wrong. within a few hours, he had the new door completely assembled and hung as proper as we could without removing the front fender.

Right about this time Mr. Anderson walked out with a signed title and put it in the glove box for me and said "enjoy it man" And I gave mike the title for the civic, and we were off. So far this car has been nothing but a joy. But anyways, that was a long ass story heres some pics.

thanks for the compliments dudes. This car is fucking awesome. I had no idea how luxurious s14's were. makes a kick ass daily. I've been cruising around in this thing non stop since I brought it home.

no way. I still can't link a course in an s-chassis to save my goddamn life. I'm convinced I will never excel at drifting these cars, so I'll stick to what i know. Pretty much everyone here can attest that they don't want to ever watch me struggle in a 240 at a drift day again. I'm a little ashamed that i'm probably the only dude in the world who can rip in a corolla, but can't jump in a 240 and do the same.

No seriously, dont encourage Ryan in an S chassis. It doesnt look nice. Hahahhahahahaha.

freal. I drove feinsteins car (which is set up to ball fucking hard as shit) at 2 drift days and ate shit pretty much the entire time. Even when I did sortof link the course it was still sketchy as fuck and all the photo g's like put their cameras down and turned the other way. NO ONE wants to see me driving a 240.

This. The interior is pretty good for daily driving for when the cars were made...

But damn, I knew you were getting a deal on this, but that's fucking crazy.
