so the best kind of updates are the ones with no real updates, just cool accessories, right?

Ditched my T3 tow hook for a JSP jam.

i'm sure most of you dudes are friends with me on fb so you saw the vid I posted there. However, yesterday my bro and I went down to the shop to see if we couldn't get the car to actually start up and run/idle on its own.

stopped off at a napa and bought some random rad hoses hoping we could get them to work, and picked up 2 gallons of ZEREX coolant for asian vehicles for no other reason really other than it is hot pink.

rad hoses actually turned out really nice. Blind luck.

the previous times I would try to start it, it would just kind of burble and pop and maybe fire for just a second or two. it would start up if you sprayed starting fluid in, so we figured something had to be up with the injectors.

ITB's happen to be extremely convenient for seeing if injectors are spraying. So we just opened the throttles wide open and cranked the motor while looking inside. Saw that only injector 1 was spraying gas.

Checked the easy stuff first, like making sure they were turned on in the tune, they were. Then checked voltage, all 4 were getting a solid 11.5-12 volts, which was a relief, it wasn't a wiring/grounding issue. So the injectors must either be bad or just stuck from sitting, pulled the rail out and made a make shift jumper for the injectors using some wire, alligator clips and the constant power to the starter. Started tapping each one with a screw driver until we started hearing the solenoids click. Eventually got all 4 spraying, and then like magic. car started up and idled on its own pretty much the first try.

Tracked down a couple vacuum leaks from the throttles and the vacuum nipples not being tightened down, but overall its running well. Let it idle until it got up to temp. I don't have any exhaust on it so it's mega loud right now, and shoots fire when you rev it. But who cares, shit starts up like a regular ass car now and I'm psyched about it.

Satty and I also welded most of the holes in the engine bay shut.

and i "test fitted" these, didnt load the suspension though. but its not like this car gains any camber or anything.

yea man, everything is coming together. the engine and everything else is finally out for the last time. Just have a few more welding/fab projects, like mounting the hydro, and it will be brought up for bodywork/paint. Then it's just a matter of reassembly and getting it driving and on the dyno.

I bought all the line/fittings and shit to do my rear brake lines/hydro plumbing.

ASD uses a bullshit thread pitch for the inlet that's impossible to find, but a brake hose for a 1960 chev makes for a good adapter, like the only vehicle that ever came with a 7/16 -20 male thread brake hose.

Mounted the hydro today and chopped off my ignition lock cylinder to finally unlock my steering column that had been stuck for like two years since I lost the keys to the car.
