Building all the wrong cars

bearings were wiped out. most likely rod bearings.

I broke it good evidently. #1 is at TDC, #4 isnt... like 1-2mm below TDC. Luckily, the entire head looks good and usable. (Whew!)

number 4 rod bearing was MIA. The rest were beyond gone. I have a nice paperweight though...

I think this is most of #4...

oh, and here's the excessive wear on the pistons and cylinder walls. Nothing repairable here...

new block. coated bearings installed and spec'd out. Got 2 rod bearings done too. Had to knock out two pistons because I installed the crank sideways instead of up and down (rods hit when rotated) so now I need to source a piston ring compressor for 82mm pistons.

Sick of not driving. Motor will be done by this weekend. Unfortunately I need some more cash flow before I can put it in. Changing the alternator to the 2zz one before my 1zz alternator fails, also going to pick up a lower temp thermostat, oil pressure gauge of some sort, and lines and a cooler for my oil cooler setup. 2 weeks is ETA to be on the road.

This does not look fun at all. LOL

hahaha, that was always planned, I just never bought it.

Did the oil pump, cams, timing components, painted, started on some accessories. Still need to install the oil baffle to the block, oil pickup, oil pan, and the rest of the accessories. Probably try to put it in next weekend.

decided to paint it silver. put some misc stuff on, and routed the wiring. Still need a 2zz alternator as well as find a solution to all the fucking oil pan bolt threads being stripped on this block.

Wing is sold.

Going back to a street car look. Slimmer, lower, and louder. Motor should go in this weekend if all goes well.

If this motor blows, I'm putting it on the stand and sticking it in the living room.

So it was bothering me too much not to check the oil pump. So I took it all back apart. Sure enough, more wear than I prefer. Just bought a new one...

not much left. Busted my ass almost every day after work to finish assembling (after the new oil pump and alternator came in) and getting it in the car. Last things left include; serpentine belt, battery, exhaust, rebuild passenger side axle (already have the Toyota kit), wiring in my oil pressure gauge, and bolting the rest of the suspension down.

Probably do some tomorrow, the rest on Tuesday since I'm off that day.
