my Weaksauce Build Thread

n i mean since all the cool kids are starting build threads..i decided to jump the bandwagon
before we get started, i just want to say that the pictures and material you are about to look at or read will be kind of jumpy until i can get all the pictures from my camera. sorry
So story is, i got my car during the summer of my freshman year of high school. i bought the car from a guy who dint feel like he wanted it and sold it to me for a few dollars and loose change..


theres the front clip i got for 1400.



and before i knew it, i was dropping my new motor into its new home

we took the car home and i started doing paint and body work..


it turned out ok for now.

the car is currently sitting in my high school shop just chillin on a lift. il re-update with more pictures and a more through build when i get the chance.

yeahhh lol i got kiddies in the hall way asking my name and if i have a 240 with a "drifting" motor. its pretty fun not gonna lie. but yeah as you can see i'm still rockin' the stock teardrops. i wana get the axis "racer x" wheels with the gold lip and matte black face, but im not sure because i want to run smaller wheels up front and bigger deeper wheels in the back. yano?
and as for the coilovers, i have tein type he's that werent installed when i took those pictures lol.
i havent gotten to drop the rear end yet, but the front was dropped only an inch. (because i couldnt get my jack out of the jack point on my car)

future plans? well for right now i need a new oil pan, pulley set, new tensioners and a fmic lol.
those parts should be coming in anytime this week. so il be taking pictures and installing.
but after that i wana start cleaning up my car. nothing big for now, just a wire tuck and new layer of paint.
im goin with a little darker then sand, kinda color but super flat. then get the contrast going with a super gloss black hood (maybe carbon thats gonna get painted?). im replacing the rear trunk with the yamamoto inverted trunk. so it should be cool lol
i would be looking for power additions, but fuck it. ive only driven the sr a few times before it got fucked yano?

Yeah i wish I would have realized how cool 240's are when I was still in high school. If I would have pumped as much money into a 240 as I did my mustang, I would have the 240 of my dreams! haha!

thanks. but yeah im pretty happy i got into it this early in the game. i mean who can say they did all their work on their swap at 17? its pretty cool lol.

and yeah i work at a moving company and at x hale. so yeah i got a good amount of money lol

real quick question does anyone know how many times ur suppose to spin the crank before the black links line up with the cam dots?

they don't line up every time, so keep on spinning

should be twice. the cams spin at half the speed of the crank.

but turn it over many times to make sure. it sucks when you put a motor in a car and then the timing is mechanically off.

By chance you wouldnt happen to have that front clip anymore would you.

? you just want the frame of it? cuz thats all thats left on that thing.. other than the steering column i think

but the number or links is what matters, as the links won't always line up when its at TDC, only every couple of revolutions.

ok so its been a while but i finally finished fixing the timing problem. thanks for the help on the timing questions.
